Theme

We have chosen the theme "Cutting Edge Pharmacology" for the congress, whereby we hope to capture and embrace the latest developments in basic (fundamentals) and clinical (therapeutics) pharmacological sciences.

Scope

This prevalent and contemporary international congress fosters basic, clinical (therapeutic) and translational fields of pharmacological sciences. It creates a forum to discuss the latest developments in pharmacological sciences, to build collaboration networks, and to get an opportunity to listen to and interact with the world's leading pharmacologists. Delegates will attend a diverse array of focused conferences, workshops and capacity building training sessions, so that this indeed becomes a collection of smaller meetings in one conference.

WCP2014 brings together health care professionals, academics, researchers, educators and policy makers from diverse arenas, including medical, pharmaceutical and other healthcare disciplines, pharmaceutical industry, governments and non-governmental organisations from around the globe.

This five day international meeting will be held at the Cape Town International Convention Centre (CTICC), implementing also green technologies and sustainable resource utilisation. Being a first of these meetings in South Africa and on the African continent, this also presents a gateway to, and showcase for African health sectors.
